The business was founded by Simon Finch, who began dealing in the early 1980s while still at university. The company has grown rapidly to become one of the leading companies of antiquarian bookdealers in the country.

We are based in a six-storey building in Maddox Street, in London's Mayfair district, where we specialize in English and continental literature, science and medicine, early printing, art, architecture and design, photography, and the social sciences. We also have a traditional country bookshop in {Holt, Norfolk}, with a large general stock of over 18,000 books in ten rooms.

Our philosophy is straightforward. We're looking for the best available copies in every category we handle.

We relish working closely with our clients to build their libraries, tracking down books for them, giving them advice on their collecting, viewing and bidding on their behalf at auction, helping them with restoration, conservation, insurance, and so on, or buying books back from them — in short, offering a complete bookselling service.
